About Daniel Xiao

Daniel Xiao In 2005 I took art classes in Houston Texas during weekends for over a year, which was taught by Mr Xinsheng Wang, an internationally known artist. Before that my main artistic interest was shooting pictures. Painting offered me a new way of expressing my feelings about lines, shapes and colors. Oil and acrylic are the mediums that I have employed the most. I particularly like using palette knife to construct effects by using intensive colors, rough textures, and the expressive layers. I participated shows / exhibitions mostly in Texas including the Lone Star Art Guild's annual conventions and have earned various honors. My works were featured in ads and websites promoting the annual Texas Red art festivals. Frame Gallery in Bryan Texas currently represents my works. Some pieces have been acquired by private collectors. In 2016 I illustrated for a poetry book published in Taiwan. The beautiful poems were written by Drnp Irene Su.
